Entrepreneur of the Month is an essay-based contest that includes a free-style essay, followed by answering three questions:
1) What was your darkest night (in business)?
2) What was your AHA! moment (while starting up or “pivoting“)?
3) Why does the world need your business?
A panel of judges will review and rate your entry, and the entry that gets the highest rating will be elected as The Entrepreneur of the Month, receive a certificate, featured on this website, and recognize at the respective Entrepreneur Night event.
Panel of Judges include: Ky Ekinci (Co-Founder of Office Divvy ™), Joe Roy (Manager of UCF SBDC Flagler Subchapter & Palm Coast Business Assistance Center), Rick Fraser (President of Center Business Excellence (CBE) in Flagler & Volusia County), Rebecca DeLorenzo (Vice President of Flagler Chamber of Commerce & Associates), Lisa Ekinci (Co-Founder of Office Divvy ™); and previous Entrepreneur of the Month contest winners.
Who can Enter? Any legal U.S. person, with a legitimate startup or entrepreneurial venture within the United States of America can enter. Who will be selected? Judges use their own criteria in rating the entries. Ratings tallied up, and the entry with the highest rating wins. In case of a tie, there will be a second-round among those whose ratings tied. Clarifying information and documents may be required by the editorial team prior to submitting the entry to the judges. Not every judge may participate in each month. In a month when there is a single entry, judges have the right to name a previously submitted entry with a higher rating as the Entrepreneur of the Month. All contest entrants shall indemnify and hold harmless the Judges, Organizers, this website and third parties from and against any and all claims arising from loss or use of their entry; and shall further indemnify and hold them harmless from and against any and all claims arising from the entries. When I got wind that Entrepreneur Night launched a contest to name an Entrepreneur of the Month at each of its networking events, I immediately got to work on a business plan.
