City of Palm Coast’s Entrepreneur Pledge

City of Palm Coast has positioned itself as a national pioneer by issuing a proclamation pledging specific commitment to Entrepreneurs.

The idea was first presented by local entrepreneurs at a Palm Coast Business Assistance Center advisory board meeting in the summer of 2011.  It received immediate attention and a warm reception by the City Manager as well as the City of Palm Coast’s Economic Development Task Force.  Putting the idea in motion, an official proclamation was issued for a Pledge to Entrepreneurs on December 20th, 2011.

Lisa Ekinci, co-founder of Office Divvy ™ received the proclamation in a City Council Meeting on behalf of the entrepreneurs in Palm Coast and Flagler County.

The commitment and support to entrepreneurship and small business is on the rise by local and state governments as well as by the Congress and the White House.  There had been few times a special Day, Week, or even a month dedicated to entrepreneurship and small business in the past two years.  However a strong commitment and pledge issued by a City to Entrepreneurs, to the best of our knowledge, is a first in the Nation –which sets Palm Coast apart.

Kudos to City of Palm Coast!
